Stylist Spotlight: Simone Haag
Simone Haag has entered the world of interiors on a somewhat unconventional journey but in doing so has forged her own path and created a niche specialising in furniture and objects selection and placement. Her work is extremely accomplished and has seen her nominated for IDEA’s 2022 Designer of the Year award up against a number of other interior heavyweights.
Her willingness to push boundaries shows up in her work to stunning effect. And while her work embodies a stratified air, she is incredibly down to earth, honest, generous and kind.
I loved chatting with Simone recently for the Imprint podcast and our conversation is well worth the listen for anyone who wants to carve out a career doing what they love.
Simone shares her approach to selecting fabrics, styling spaces and how she sources her signature eclectic mix of new and vintage pieces to create beautiful rooms with impact.
“Vintage pieces are a huge part of the signature style of the studio, we never put too many in a project. It's one third vintage, two thirds not. I try to get pieces that aren’t too obvious to the style of the house - I’ve found when you flip it on it’s head, that's when it starts to be successful.”
